Jennifer, I meet up with the Jax group on flickr, about once a month. Not only do I learn ALOT, but I am exposed to some awesome locations that 'other' people know about. We all like to pick each other brains when it comes to photography...lol. As far as time well...the hubby keeps the kids for the day =)
You should def. come with one day. It's really fun. Alot of us carpool =)
